    Color: Light to medium brown, commonly with a gray-olive cast depending on the subjects and the origin.

    Présence of pin knots and flake.

    Dense wood with a coarse grain and a lot of character.

    Commonly used for cabinet doors and in cabinetry for traditional furniture.

    Also used for barrels and in the construction of boats because of its resistance to rot and humidity.
