    White Oak quarter cut:

    The usual expression “quarter cut” or “quartersawn” refers to the way boards are cut from a log. Quarter sawing yields boards with straight striped grain lines and with a  greater stability than flatsawn wood.

    Common name: White Oak

    Color: Vary from a light straw color to a much darker brown mixed with gray and greenish variations depending on the origin.

    Quartersawn lumber has a grain with a straighter and thinner appearance.

    Présence of pin knots and “flakes”

    Commonly used to produce cabinet doors, cabinetry and traditional furniture.

    Also used for barrels, flooring and boatbuildings because of its rot-resistance.
